West Edmeston resident killed in Brookfield accident

BROOKFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities have identified the person killed in an accident in Madison County over the weekend as being from Edmeston.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's office, Cyle Chesebro, 49, of West Edmeston was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The accident happened around 5:35 a.m. on Sunday on State Route 8 in the Town of Brookfield.

Authorities say a vehicle operated by Phurba Tamang, 31 of Utica was traveling south on Route 8 when a deer entered the roadway form an adjacent cornfield. The deer struck by Tamang's vehicle and went airborne, impacting Chesebro's motorcycle.

Chesebro was ejected as a result of the impact with the deer and was pronounced dead on the scene by Brookfield Rescue as a result of his injuries.

Tamang was not injured.
