Oneida County Sheriff's office receives proclamation by County Executive

ORISKANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - This week is Sheriff's Week in New York State and on Monday morning, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente honored Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol with a proclamation.

County Executive Picente says that he is proud of the department, which dates back to when Oneida County itself was formed in 1798, and says he is especially proud of the current Sheriff and his staff for what they do each and every day for the people of Oneida County.

"We're fortunate to be able to maintain the level of the Sheriff's Department that we do, so I felt that it was very important for us to say thank you and to honor them," Picente said at a ceremony at the Sheriff's Office in Oriskany on Monday.

Sheriff Maciol says he gladly accepts the proclamation in honor of all 435 employees that work for the Sheriff's Department throughout the county.
