Family: Teen dies from injuries after Floyd accident

FLOYD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Family members of Anusha Yagey say the teen has died from his injuries after a serious accident along Route 365 in the Town of Floyd Tuesday morning.

According to State Police Captain Francis Coots, two Holland Patent students - Joseph Yagey, 17, and Anusha Yagey, 16 - were traveling east on Route 365 in a Ford Taurus around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when Joseph Yagey, who was driving, lost control due to slushy conditions on the road. Authorities say the car entered the westbound lane and into the path of a cattle truck driven by Bruce Crammond of Ticonderoga. State Police say the Yageys are brothers.

Joseph Yagey was sent to Rome Memorial Hospital but has since been released.

Anusha Yagey, who was a front-seat passenger in the Ford Taurus.

He was rushed th Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

Crammond was not badly injured.

A portion of Route 365 was closed for several hours Tuesday as authorities investigated the accident.

"The investigation is ongoing," Captain Coots said. "We're trying to determine the exact cause of the accident. No tickets have been issued. We don't know if any will be issued. Right now, we just want to get the facts together and determine exactly the cause of the accident."
