Two victims transported to hospitals after fire in Ilion

ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two victims are being treated after a fire that broke out at a home on Otsego Street in the Village of Ilion on Wednesday morning.

According to Ilion Fire Chief James Trevett, a crew from the Ilion Water Department happened to be driving down Otsego Street around 8 a.m. on Wednesday when they saw smoke and flames coming from 389 Otsego Street and called the fire department who responded to the scene.

When the fire crews arrived, they found more smoke and flames pouring from the building and were able to locate two fire victims.

One of those victims was transported by MOVAC immediately due to the severity of burns, while the second victim was transported via a helicopter that landed at the Ilion High School Football Field.

Chief Trevett was unsure at the scene where the second victim was transported to.
