UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Supreme Court Judge Bernadette Clark has ruled that the owner of Manny's Cheesecake owes the City of Utica $93,000 to cover the cost of demolishing the building.

The local landmark burned down in August 2011 and five months later, the city cleaned up the site after they say owner Richard Alpert failed to do so. According to court documents, the building had to be demolished due to safety concerns.

When reached by phone on Friday, Alpert said he and his attorney were waiting to hear from the court directly.
