Crews battle fire in Westmoreland

By WKTV News

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Several fire departments were on the scene of a fire in Westmoreland that broke out late on Monday afternoon.

At least six crews were dispatched to 5651 Lowell Road shortly after 2 p.m., striking what appeared to be an abandoned house.

Fire officials said there was power running to the house, but no on lived there.

Heavy flames and thick black smoke filled the air as crews battled the blaze and firefighters say it was a difficult fire to fight because of trees that surrounded the house.
