Home a total loss, at least one pet killed after Blossvale fire

BLOSSVALE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A home in Blossvale appears to be a total loss after a Friday afternoon fire that killed at least one family pet.

The fire at 8371 Route 13 in Blossvale broke out just before 2 p.m. On Friday. A husband and wife were reportedly home at the time when the fire broke out in the bathroom of the home.

McConnellsville Fire Department responded to the scene with assistance from North Bay, Taberg, Vienna, Camden and Lee Center. Sylvan Beach and Florence Fire Departments were put on standby and an air van was brought in from Verona.

A family dog was killed in the fire, and it was believed that a cat who was in the structure at the time of the fire as well, was also killed.

The structure appeared to be a total loss.
