UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One of the longest serving firefighters with the Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Company was recognized Wednesday night for his decades of service.

Firefighter Jim Snow received several framed certificates in honor of his 62 years of service. Snow was joined by family members and local officials, all of whom wanted to thank him for his dedication to serving the community.

"It's been an honor to tell him thank you on behalf of us and the people out there that we provide fire protection for," said Richard Duerr of the Fire and Police Association of New York State.

The ceremony took place at the Masonic Care Community in Utica.
