Car severs utility pole in Marcy accident

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - One person was being evaluated at the scene following an accident in Marcy on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Mulaney Road in Marcy, roughly a half mile west of the SUNYIT entrance.

A vehicle hit a utility pole and severed it completely.

The person inside that vehicle was being evaluated by emergency response crews at the scene, but there is no word on the extent of any injuries as of this writing.

The Maynard Fire Department was on the scene, as was National Grid, who was called to the scene to immediately cut the power to the area.
