UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Several roads were closed off Friday morning after a city DPW truck reportedly struck a gas line in front of 419 Northern Road in the City of Utica.

According to police, portions of Northern Road, Herkimer Road, Coventry Ave and Manor Road were all blocked off on Friday as crews from Public Works and National Grid worked to contain and repair the gas leak.

Officials said it was a pretty large gas line and was struck around 8 a.m. while a DPW crew was working with an excavator.

By 4:25 p.m., officials said the gas line had been fixed and all the roads were back open.
