By WKTV News

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Miller Road Bridge across State Route 8 and 12 in the Town of Deerfield is closed to traffic on Monday, June 25 in order to allow work to begin on a project to replace the deteriorated bridge deck.

The bridge is scheduled to be re-opened by Labor Day.

The project will place a concrete inlay on the bridge to extend the bridge's service life and will also upgrade bridge approaches and install new bridge railing. The work will be done by Tioga Construction Company, Inc of Herkimer, who won the contract bid of $444,468.50, according to the State Department of Transportation.

A signed detour sign will direct traffic around the closure along Trenton Road and Route 8.
