Oneida County Road Closings Week of June 23, 2014

City of Rome:

Route 49 bridge deck work between the Route 49 bridge over Route 233 and the Route 49 bridge over South Service Road. Motorists will encounter an eastbound and westbound lane closure. During the week of June 23 the following traffic changes will take place:

·         Westbound traffic will encounter a 24/7 lane closure.

·         Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the westbound side.

·         Route 69 on-ramp to Route 49 east will be closed. Follow detour signs to Lamphere Road then back to Route 49 east.

·         Route 49 east off-ramp to Route 365 east and East Dominick Street will be closed. Follow detour signs to Route 825 north then back to Route 365 east.

              -Speed limit will continue to be reduced to 45 mph in the work zone.

Route 69/233/Martin Street intersection. Motorists will encounter a 24/7 shoulder closure, utilizing concrete barrier, due to Canalway Trail work. 

Hamlet of Alder Creek:

  • Route 28 south bridge over Route 12. Motorists will continue to encounter a long-term temporary signal controlling one-way alternating traffic. Minor delays can be expected.

Towns of Floyd & Marcy: 

  • Route 49 between Route 291 and east city limits of Rome. Motorists will encounter an eastbound or westbound lane closure during crack sealing operations, expected to begin during the week of June 23. 

Town of Marcy:

  • Route 291 bridge over Nine Mile Creek. Motorists will continue to encounter a long-term temporary signal controlling one-way alternating traffic. Minor delays can be expected.
  • Route 291 bridge over MA&N (Adirondack) Railroad, between Chaminade Road and Jones Road. Motorists will encounter one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal 24/7, due to bridge joint repairs and paving.

Town of Trenton:

  • Route 12 bridge over Cincinnati Creek, between Mappa Ave and Old Poland Road. Motorists will encounter a daytime lane closure northbound and/or southbound, due to bridge joint repairs. A speed limit reduction to 45 mph will be utilized in the work zone.
