Water Authority: leaking water tank in Deerfield not a cause for concern

By WKTV News

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Officials with the Mohawk Valley Water Authority say residents shouldn't be worried if they notice the water tank on Smith Hill Road leaking in the Town of Deerfield.

The Mohawk Valley Water Authority says that the reserve tank in Deerfield is in need of repairs, leading to the visible leak with water spewing out of it Monday and Tuesday.

Officials with the Water Authority said the tank is slated to be fixed later this week or early next week.

They stress that the water is generally not used for drinking and is only meant as a reserve, in case of a fire in the area. They say as a precaution, they've dropped the water level in the tank.
