Local College Soccer Player Earns National Honor

DWIGHT BARNETT WAS EASILY THE CATALYST ON THE NATIONAL CHAMPION H-TRIPLE-C MENS SOCCER TEAM.
AND NOW HE HAS A NATIONAL REWARD TO ADD TO HIS RESUME.
BARNETT WAS NAMED THE 2005 NSCAA/ADIDAS DIVISION III JUNIOR COLLEGE NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
A TWO-TIME FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN, BARNETT SCORED 53 GOALS AND HAD 34 ASSISTS IN HIS TWO SEASONS PLAYING FOR HERKIMER.
HE LED THE GENERALS TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR AND A NATIONAL RUNNER-UP FINISH LAST YEAR.
BARNETT HAS ALSO BEEN NAMED 2005 REGION III MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AND REGION III CO-PLAYER OF THE YEAR WITH TEAMMATE MIGUEL MARTINEZ, WHO WAS THE MVP OF THE NATIONAL FINAL FOUR.
BARNETT IS HCCC'S FIFTH STUDENT-ATHLETE TO HAVE BEEN NAMED NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
