WAYLAND, N.Y. -- After suffering a suspension of their home opener last weekend due to bad weather, the Utica Yard Dogs were again held up by bad weather on Saturday at Southern Tier. But after a 30-minute delay the game got underway, and the U'Dogs made it worth the wait with a 42-6 demolition of the Diesel.

Running back Rommel Ponder scored three touchdowns, including one on a 63-yard run, and fellow running back Alex Heath found the end zone twice. Lineman Paul D'Auito also scored a touchdown.

The Yard Dogs are now 2-1 in the Northeastern Football Alliance and travel to Troy next Saturday. Their next home game is Saturday, August 16th at D'Alessandro Stadium against Buffalo. Tickets are available by calling 796-0700.
