MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNYIT Women's Basketball team fell to cross-town rival Utica College 79-50 on the final day of the Wildcat Tip-Off Tournament.  The loss dropped SUNYIT to 2-1 on the year, while Utica improved to 2-1.

Utica jumped out to a quick 10-point lead seven minutes into the contest and went up by as many as 20 points in the first 20 minutes of action to take a 43-26 lead into half time.  It was much of the same in the second half, as SUNYIT only got as close as 17 points down before eventually falling to defeat.

The Pioneers of Utica were able to coast to victory by taking advantage of 19 SUNYIT turnovers, which led to 27 points for UC.  Utica, which never trailed throughout the entire contest, also took advantage of its extra opportunities, as the team collected 19 second-chance points.

Despite the loss, SUNYIT received another monster effort from sophomore center Tamara Williams (Rome, NY/RFA), who collected her third double-double in as many games when she finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds.  Sophomore Taylor Topping (Bronx, NY/Preston) contributed 14 points as well, to go along with eight rebounds and a steal.  Both Williams and Topping were named to the All-Tournament team.  Also contributing was Kwanisha Jones (Philadelphia, NY/Indian River), who finished with eight points, five boards and four assists.
