COLUMBUS, O.H. (WKTV) - Matt "The Hammer" Hamill recorded a dramtic first round knock out over Mark Munoz at UFC 96 in Columbus, Ohio. Hamill dropped Munoz with a kick to the head that left Munoz on the canvas long after the fight ended.

Ohio native Hamill, who fights out of Utica, improved his MMA record to 8-2 in the UFC. Hamill was never in trouble in the fight and had been effectively landing punches against Munoz.

The sellout crowd in Columbus went wild for their native son in what was his most spectacular victory yet.

Munoz was out in the ring for a considerable length of time. However, he did walk out of the octagon after a neck brace was employed. Munoz was unbeaten in his MMA career until now.
