STITTVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Traveling across the globe and climbing some of Africa's highest mountains is no small feat, but one local woman is in training to do just that.

Sarah Kaczor is A Stittville native, and she's taking the mission of community service to new heights.

She's got just three weeks to climb three peaks, and they aren't just any mountains.

Kaczor is training right now to join an international team of 12 women, to hike the three highest mountains in Africa, Mt.Kenya, Mt. Meru, and Mt. Killamanjaro.

This yoga instructor is doing it all to model an important lesson, as she raises money and awareness for aid in Africa.

"I think this is a great opportunity because it combines service, with the climbing adventure and so its like you've taken this personal goal and made it into something where you're contributing to the greater good," said Kaczor.

Her goal is to raise $15,000.00 by the time she starts her hike in January.

Until then, she will be in training by walking for an hour or two everyday, and hiking the mountains of Central New York.
