Baseball Hall of Fame announce expansion of Father's Day events

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The sun is shining and the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is looking forward to spring.

On Tuesday, the Hall announced that its annual Father's Day event is expanding.

Mark your calendars for June 17 through June 19, and make it a point to be in Cooperstown with your family.

One of the newest programs is happening the Saturday before on June 18 - a program that Hall officials say will be an interactive experience with major league stars.

"The roster of those who have come to Cooperstown for the Classic for the first two years have provided baseball fans with the ability to see their baseball card collection come to life and suit up for the love of the game," said Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson.

Six Hall of Famers (Andrew Dawson, Goose Gossage, Phil Niekro, Jim Rice, Ozzie Smith and Dick Williams) are planning to make the trip to Cooperstown for Father's Day weekend, and the hall is hoping to add one more.

Tickets go on sale April 16.
