Kaillie Briscoe '09 led all players with five goals and three assists as nationally ranked No. 4 Hamilton College defeated visiting St. Lawrence University 19-4 in a Liberty League championships tournament semifinal game played at Campus Road Athletic Field on May 2.

Briscoe broke the record she set last year for points in a season. She has 58 goals and 34 assists for 92 points. Briscoe finished 2007 with 86 points. She took over the program's all-time lead in assists with 90. Liz Longley '07 held the old record of 87 assists. Briscoe also moved into second place on the team's career list with 157 goals.

Hamilton (16-1 overall) is the tournament's No. 1 seed. The Continentals won their 14th straight games and notched their 19th consecutive victory at home. Hamilton will meet No. 2 seed Union College in the tournament final for the third straight year as the Dutchwomen defeated No. 3 William Smith College 10-5. The Continentals knocked off Union in 2007 for the league crown. Union edged Hamilton 8-6 in 2006.

The league tournament final will be played at Campus Road Athletic Field on Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III championships. St. Lawrence (11-5) dropped to 1-3 all-time in league tournament play. The fourth-seeded Saints were making their third tournament appearance.

Liz Rave '10 scored three goals and won two draw controls. Audrey Nebergall '10 chipped in three goals. Sarah Bray '11 added two goals and two assists off the bench. Anne Graveley '11 found the back of the net twice and was credited with an assist.

Jen McGowan '08 scored two goals, picked up four ground balls and captured two draw controls. Kate Marek '09 tallied two goals. Two-time league Player of the Year Nicole Tetreault '08 posted one assist and two draw controls. Hilary Saverin '10 registered her first assist this year.

Catie Gibbons '09 led the defense with two caused turnovers. Kate Fowler '10 made five of her six saves in the first half and lowered her goals against average to 6.19.

St. Lawrence grabbed a 1-0 lead just 49 seconds into the first half. Hamilton responded with four straight goals from four different players and never trailed again. The Saints pulled within 4-2 with 17:37 left in the half, but the Continentals countered with a 12-0 run to put the game out of reach. Hamilton led 12-2 at the break.

The Continentals held a 39-14 advantage in shots and committed 12 turnovers. St. Lawrence turned the ball over 19 times. Hamilton leads the all-time series with 16 wins and 11 losses.
