ONEONTA, N.Y. (AP) - Sam Nader is selling the Oneonta Tigers of the New York-Penn League, ending a relationship that began 42 years ago. Nader announced Tuesday that he was selling the Class A franchise to E. Miles Prentice, who also owns minor-league clubs in Texas and Alabama. Nader said the sale would keep the Tigers in Oneonta through at least 2010.

Nader, 88, and Sid Levine, 95, are the only living members of the Oneonta Athletic Corp., a group that purchased the franchise for $10,000 in 1966. The franchise was affiliated with the Boston Red Sox in 1966 and the New York Yankees from 1967 to 1998. The Detroit Tigers have been the parent club since then. The value of the deal was not released.
