Sports WKTV

CLINTON, NY - Hamilton College head women's lacrosse coach Patty Kloidt has been selected the NCAA Division III Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The national award is the first for Kloidt, and she was named the Empire Region's Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Kloidt guided Hamilton to a 21-1 record and the first NCAA team championship in the College's history. The 21 wins are a program single-season record and the Continentals finished the year ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll. The team finished the season with a 19-game win streak.

Kloidt owns an overall record of 76-27 in six years at Hamilton. The Continentals have won 22 straight games at Campus Road Athletic Field and 20 in a row against Liberty League opponents. Hamilton captured the league's regular season and tournament crowns in 2007 and 2008.

Kloidt's honor was the last of many for the program this year. Four of her players were named All-Americans, including three on the first team. Nicole Tetreault '08 was voted the Liberty League's Player of the Year and later was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
