Utica, N.Y. -  From the world of mixed martial arts, NEWSChannel 2 sports has learned that…it's on. Te ufc will announce, as early as this weekend, that rumored fight between Utica's Matt "The Hammer" Hamill and Rich Franklin will happen on September 6th at UFC 88 in Atlanta. Franklin will be stepping up in weight to battle the light heavyweight Hamill. The Hammer is stepping up in quality of opponent in fighting the former UFC middleweight. There's been plenty of talk about this match on the internet and we're telling you that talk is good and the fight is on. Hamill will host a UFC night at the Uptown Theater this Saturday. He's giving away t-shirts, photos, door prizes and screening the UFC Saturday event. There's a cover charge and doors open at 7:30pm.
