Holland Patent Puts Away South Jefferson

By by BRIAN SANDLER

HOLLAND PATENT, NY (WKTV) - Holland Patent's defense came through in a big way on Saturday, forcing four turnovers in a 35-25 victory over visiting South Jefferson.

The game did not start well for Holland Patent as South Jefferson returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and a 6-0 lead, but three first-half touchdowns in three different ways by Dan Fruscella put the Golden Knights ahead for good.  Fruscella scored on a 62-yard interception return, and 84-yard kickoff return, and a short run on offense.

The defense grabbed three interceptions and recovered a fumble.

The win improves Holland Patent to 1-1 in Class B East and 2-3 overall; South Jefferson is now 1-2 (3-2).
