Adirondack Nips Frankfort-Schuyler

By by BRIAN SANDLER

FRANKFORT, NY (WKTV) - Adirondack only scored one goal on 18 shots at Frankfort-Schuyler on Wednesday night, but the Lady Wildcats' defense made it stand for a 1-0 Center State Conference Division I win.

The goal came courtesy of Emily Garnsey early in the first half, and Adirondack's defense only allowed five Frankfort-Schuyler shots to hold on.

Goalie Dora Recher made three saves for the shutout, and saved the game literally by punching away a 50-50 ball inside Adirondack's box with about 10 minutes to play.  Frankfort-Schuyler goalie Katie Maneen made 15 saves in the loss.

The victory improves the Lady Wildcats to 5-2-1 in league play and 8-6-1 overall; the Lady Maroon Knights drop to 1-11-3 overall.
