RFA Hockey Edges Rye In Overtime

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Dustin Frankey picked a great time to score a hat trick as his third goal in overtime gave RFA a 4-3 win over Section I's Rye in the consolation game of RFA's holiday tournament at Kennedy Arena.

The majority of the scoring game in the first period.  RFA jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 1:55 in, Rye came back to tie it at 2-2, then RFA scored again late for a 3-2 lead.  After a scoreless second period, Rye tied the game in the third.  But it merely set the stage for Frankey's heroics.

Frankey finished with three goals and an assist, Max Bartell scored once and T.J. Reilley had two assists.  Goalie Mike Endres made 55 saves, including one on a penalty shot in the first that kept the score 2-0 at the time.

RFA is now 7-4-1 overall.
