UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Big second and fourth quarters were the big difference for Notre Dame on Saturday as the Jugglers defeated Fulton 78-58 in the Section III, Class A quarterfinals.
Notre Dame, the No. 3 seed, only led the No. 11 Red Raiders 18-17 after the first quarter but stretched its lead to 38-29 at halftime. The Juggers still had a comfortable lead after the third quarter at 55-44, and after Fulton cut it to 55-47 Notre Dame broke out for a 12-3 run to put the game away.
The Jugglers, now 18-4, will face No. 7 seed and Tri Valley League rival Whitesboro in the semifinals at a place, date and time that will be determined Monday morning. The teams split their regular-season series.
Pat Moore led the Jugglers with 20 points while Jerrell Hunter scored 18, Matt Petrone scored 17 and Mike Hill scored 11. Fulton had three players score in double-figures with Robert Jackowski scoring 18, Gary Kemp 15 and Max Ambuske 13.
Fulton finishes the season 12-10.
