UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the second straight week, the Notre Dame Jugglers handed a team their first loss of the season. This time it moved them into first place in the Class D East with a 12-6 win over NY Mills on Friday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Marauders got on the board with a 35 yard touchdown pass from James Fellone to Edgardo Colon. The extra point was no good so the Mills went into halftime with a 6-0 lead.
After one unsuccessful series in the third quarter, head coach Byron Abraham pulled Colin Pastorella in favor of Tom Appleton. That seemed to spark the offense. On the ensuing Juggler possession, Appleton moved his team down the field and connected with Dylan Davis for a nine yard touchdown to tie the game at six.
In the fourth quarter, the Jugglers shutdown the Marauder offense and moved the ball down the field. Tom Giglio rumbled in for a 13 yard go-ahead touchdown. He rushed for 73 yards on the night. NY Mills could not muster another solid drive and Notre Dame held on for the win. They improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the division. The Marauders drop to 2-1, 1-1 in the division.
