New Hartford boys win their first section title since 2004

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Spartans beat Jamesville-DeWitt 2-0 on Monday to capture the Class A title. The win gives the Spartans their first sectional crown since 2004, the year they were co-state champions.

New Hartford got on the board in the first half on a goal by Zack Hecox with an assist from Pat Alcott. The Spartans took that lead into the second half when AJ Wolfanger set up Joe Affatigato to seal the deal.

The Spartans improve to 17-2 and will face Section II's Mohonasen in the regionals. The game is set for 12pm on Wednesday in Guilderland.
