Marauders stay perfect, advance to quarters

N.Y. MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New York Mills boys basketball team got their 2010 postseason off on the right foot, knocking off Lyme 62-41 Tuesday night.  Matt Welch led the way for the #1 team in Class D, not just in Section III, but the entire state, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  Fred Russ also had a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Marauders took a 35-17 lead at halftime, and Welch dominated the third quarter, scoring 10 of his points in the frame.

N.Y. Mills advances to the Section III Quarterfinals Friday, hosting Copenhagen at Beekman Gym.
