Hawks swept at home by Schenectady

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The weather was beautiful at Murnane Field Saturday, but the play of the MVCC baseball team wasn't, as the Hawks were swept by Region III rival Schenectady County Community College, 9-1 and 13-6.  The Hawks gave up eight unearned runs in Game 1, the first five on the watch of RFA grad Kyle Richardson, and the last three by Brian Gaskell.

Schenectady got just six hits in the first game, but took advantage of a host of errors by MVCC.  They did the same in the second game, as the Hawks committed six errors.  MVCC scored the first six runs of the second game, but let up thirteen unanswered runs.

The two teams will head to Schenectady tomorrow to play another doubleheader.

With the two losses Saturday, MVCC fell to 16-8 in Region III and 20-14 overall.
