By By MIKE LEVIN

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - In a game shortened to just six and a half innings, thanks to the mercy rule, the HCCC baseball team beat MVCC 8-0 Friday in the NJCCA Region III playoffs at Veteran's Memorial Park in Little Falls.

Brett Hauber broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning, with an RBI double.  The Generals then exploded in the fifth, as five straight hitters reached base to start the inning.  Brandon Jones had two hits in the inning, while Lane Potter drove in two runs on a single.

Andy Eggleston pitched six scoreless innings and gave up just two hits, striking out six to earn his second win of the postseason.  Kyle Richardson and Alex Jurczynski had the two hits for the Hawks.

MVCC played the loser of the HVCC/Niagara CC matchup in an elimination game later on Friday, while the Generals play the winner Saturday at noon.
