Dawson visits Baseball Hall of Fame

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The main attraction at this year's Baseball Hall of Fame Induction stopped by Cooperstown for his own personal tour of the museum Tuesday.  Andre "The Hawk" Dawson, the lone member of the 2010 Hall of Fame class to be voted in by the writers, will join Whitey Herzog and Doug Harvey as the newest inductees on Sunday, July 25th.

Dawson won the Rookie of the Year award with the Expos in 1977, then ten years later took home the MVP in his first season with the Cubs.  He was elected to eight All-Star games in his 21 seasons, wining eight gold gloves and four silver sluggers.

The Hawk said Tuesday that he's excited to be inducted, but he says it still seems a little surreal.  "I'm thankful to have this opportunity today, I look forward to July 25th and for me, today helps to get my feet underneath me a little bit more because I know that things are going to speed up, quite a nervous experience for me, but today was really helpful."
