UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Red, White and Blue tour stopped off in Utica last night and the Oneida County Legion Baseball Alumni team gave them a memorable game for sure.
Jake Wasielewski scored the winning run as he stole home in the bottom of the ninth to give the Legion Alumni a 3-2 win over the Heroes of the Diamond. The game had been a pitchers duel as both teams played scoreless ball until the bottom of the seventh.
Wasielewski's RBI double scored Brendan Rowlands to make it 1-0, then Cody Hitt belted an RBI triple to score Waielewski. Heroes would tie it in the 8th before the game ending steal gave the Alumni the victory.
The game is just the beginning of a week of Legion baseball. The Blue and Gold Classic continues all week long. For a complete schedule check out http://www.legionbaseball.com/blueandgold.cfm?area=schedule
