Local businesses already prepping for Super Bowl business

By EMMA WRIGHT

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Super Bowl Sunday is right around the corner, and the big game is big business for local restaurants.

Solodato's Pizza in Marcy says Super Bowl Sunday is one of their busiest days of the year. They only sell more pizzas on Christmas Eve and the day before Thanksgiving.

Of course, plenty of prep work goes on well before Super Bowl Sunday, with employees already beginning to wrap celery and filling containers with blue cheese for orders of wings on Friday.

On Saturday, they will start making pizza dough.

"Pepperoni and sausage are the best-sellers," said owner Frank Solodato.

Also doing a brisk business this weekend is Marcy Discount Beverage.

Co-owner Ron Martel said he sells the same amount of beer Super Bowl weekend that he would on a good weekend in the summer.

"You usually don't get business like that in the middle of February," he said. "It is nice to have it."
