LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - RFA and MVCC Grad Kyle Richardson's second inning grand slam paced the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs to a 9-2 win Friday over Glens Falls on WKTV Night.  NEWSChannel 2's Steve McMurray and his son, Jack, threw out the first pitch, and were also joined by former Yankee pitcher Tommy John, who served as the Dawgs' special guest first base coach.

The DiamondDawgs also honored veterans of all wars in a ceremony before the game.  The team fell short of their attendance record, with 1,967 fans coming out to Veterans Memorial Park on a beautiful summer night.

The Dawgs got their first run in the second, on an RBI single by Tyler Townsend, which scored Ryan Kemp.  They took a 2-0 lead on an infield single by Proctor grad Jason Simone, which scored Greg Solomon.

Pitcher Joe Michaud went three innings without giving up a hit, and ended up going six innings, while giving up just one run for the win.

The DiamondDawgs evened their record at 10-10 on the season.
