QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - A northern New York woman who told
investigators she rolled over and smothered her seven-week-old son after drinking a dozen beers has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge.

Thirty-three-year-old Amy Campbell of North Creek pleaded guilty yesterday in Warren County Court to endangering the welfare of her child, Dominic Marseglia.

She will be sentenced to three years of probation and mandatory substance abuse counseling.

Prosecutors have dropped plans for homicide charges against Campbell.

She was originally indicted on manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide charges.

Campbell told police she was drinking while taking medication for a bipolar disorder on the day in February when her son died.

Campbell has seven other children but has custody of none of them.
