MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Teachers and students from roughly 52 school districts gathered Thursday to share their secrets of bringing technology into the classroom.

The "Technology Heightens Education" or "T.H.E." Symposium went on from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. At SUNYIT in Marcy.

Highlights at the symposium are a technology playground where elementary school students can share their expertise and explore emerging technologies.

"So, you'll see students using smartboards, using their smartphones, really looking at how we can use technology in all aspects of not only school, but their daily lives," said Tracy Rowlands, Assistant Director of the Mohawk Regional Information Center.

The hope is that students will learn to find information at anytime, anywhere, and put it to use.
