Rome woman killed in two-car crash in Whitestown
WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome woman was killed Friday morning in a two-car motor vehicle accident on Judd Road, between Westmoreland Road and Halsey Road in the Town of Whitestown.
According to Whitestown Police, shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, Jillian Velardi, 19 of Rome was traveling north on Judd Road in a 2006 Pontiac G6 when she lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane of Judd Road. Police say Velardi then collided with a 2006 Honda CRV driven by Gary Elsenbeck, 64, of Lee Center. Elsenbeck's wife, Sandra Elsenbeck, was a passenger in the Honda CRV, authorities added.
All three individuals were extricated from the vehicles by members of the New York Mills Fire Department and transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica by Central Oneida County Ambulance.
Velardi was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Elsenbecks were being treated and their conditions were not known by police as of this writing.
Whitestown Police said the investigation into the accident is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
