Flooding at vacant property next door causes Bank of America in New Hartford to close
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Customers of the Bank of America on Genesee Street in New Hartford were met with a surprise on Tuesday when they found their branch unexpectedly closed. A sign on the door Tuesday read "Due to Circumstances beyond our control, we are closed today. Sorry for the inconvenience." Media Relations with Bank of America say that a vacant property next to the bank branch had a water pipe burst, which caused some minor flooding within the bank. The bank was closed in order for crews to remove water and clean the branch, as well as make sure the issues were resolved at the vacant lot next door. The bank will re-open on Wednesday at its normal operating hours, company officials said.
