Utica, other local schools pass budgets
By ANDREW DONOVAN

(WKTV) - Most, if not all, local school districts have passed their school budgets for the next year, including the Utica City School District.

As of late Tuesday night, not one budget or proposition up for public vote locally had been rejected.

Many schools had other propositions for bus purchases, school resource officer funding and Board of Education elections.

In Utica, incumbent Donald Dawes won reelection, but challenger Michael Paul defeated the other incumbent, Barry Goodwin.

In New Hartford, incumbent Andrew Ward was defeated.

The area's newest school district, Central Valley Schools, passed their first ever budget when they formally transition from the Ilion and Mohawk School Districts in July.
