Utica man in coma, dog killed in home invasion shooting

Update: The victim of last night's shooting on Cottage Pl., in Utica, has been identified as, Shawn Ward, 36.

According to the UPD, Ward was shot several times following a home invasion at his residence, and transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he is currently in a medically induced coma.

Ward's dog was also shot and killed during the incident.

The Police is asking for the public's help in identifying or finding the suspects, and ask that anyone with information call them at (315)223-3510.

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One person and a dog are shot in Utica on Wednesday night, according to Utica Police.

UPD received the call shortly before 6:30 this evening to an upstairs apartment on Cottage Place in Utica.

The extent of injuries for both the man who was shot and the dog are not known.

Police are looking for a white Oldsmobile with two men in it.
