State trooper, other drive released from hospital after collision


HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A New York State Trooper has been released from the hospital after he was involved in a two-car crash in the Village of Herkimer, according to authorities.

The trooper is 30-year-old Nathan Harder and he was driving on North Washington Street, responding to a physical domestic incident.

A vehicle, driven by 30-year-old Jessica Gilmartin, from Jordanville, was traveling south on North Washington Street. Gilmartin's vehicle was given a green light at an intersection, but the trooper was cruising through a red light with police lights activated.

Harder was transported to Little Falls Hospital for neck pain, left shoulder pain, and left wrist pain. He was treated and released.

Gilmartin was transported to Little Falls Hospital for abdominal abrasion and pain, where she was treated and released.

The investigation is continuing.
