Woman charged in serious boating accident on First Lake

WEBB, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica College student from Middletown faces drunk boating charges after a crash that badly injured a husband and wife from Old Forge.

James and Judith Foley are in serious condition at St. Elizabeth Medical Center as of this writing.

According to Town of Webb Police, Janelle Nixon, 24 was driving recklessly on First Lake around 5 p.m. Saturday when she collided with and ran on top of the Foley's boat. Their boat collided with water and neighbors had to come to the rescue to bail the boat out.

Nixon's charges include reckless operation of a vessel, boating while intoxicated and operating a vessel with a BAC of .08 or more.

She is scheduled to appear in court next month.
