Broadway Theatre League extends application deadline for Youth Ambassador Program

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Broadway Theatre League of Utica is extending their Youth Ambassador Program application deadline to August 16th.

The program chooses two students from each area school and gives each individual a season subscription to all six shows. Selected students are required to write their opinions throughout the show on Facebook and Twitter, as well as submit a critique or review to the league.

Erika Heintz, Administrator Assistant for the league said both the students and staff learn from each other, " Social media is a huge way of communication now and that's what they're doing and they are getting the word out to all their friends and family and its a great way to get our shows and what's going on at the Stanley out to the public."

The 2013-2014 season include:

1.) We Will Rock You

2.) Cirque Dreams Holidaze

3.) Memphis

4.) Peter and the Starcatcher

5.) Bring It On, The Musical

6.) Million Dollar Quartet

Students are eligible to apply for the ambassador program is they are juniors or seniors in high school, are able to provide their own transportation to the show and if they have social media accounts they are willing to comment through.

In order to apply, students must have a teacher recommendation and submit a short essay explaining why they want to be a part of the program.
