Central New York takes glancing blow from northeast storm

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - School districts throughout the area decided not to risk things on Wednesday with the snow that came through the region. Luckily, Central New York missed the full brunt of it, with the New England area getting hit hard.

The Utica City School District closed today primarily because they have many students who walk to school and the conditions made that dangerous.

People were out clearing their cars off and making good use of the shovels and snowblowers. At one point, several north Utica streets appeared virtually untouched by snowplows.
