College students get sports marketing lessons from the pros

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Several business and sports marketing students from area colleges gathered Tuesday to hear some valuable sports management lessons during a Sports Business Panel Discussion at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino.

Students listened to stories about what it takes to make it in the industry, straight from the professionals.

The panelists included golf business greats like Tiger Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, and Golf Channel Analyst Notah Begay III.

The event was a part of the NB3 Foundation Challenge, which is set to take place Wednesday without Tiger Woods.

"I had a great talk with Tiger yesterday and I wish him the best, and he's just really disappointed," Begay said. "He loves the event, he loves the area, he loves Turning Stone Resort and that's one of the main reasons he comes back every year."

Tiger withdrew from the event, last night because of back issues.
