UTICA, N.Y. - Just four days into its infancy, the Utica Comets have reached one significant milestone. Early Wednesday morning the Utica Comets hit the 1,000 season tickets sold mark.
That means, in just four days of ticket sales, the Utica Memorial Auditorium will be above 25% capacity, for every Utica Comets home game in the 2013-14 season.
“The Utica Comets hockey fans have totally just blown us away. One thousand season tickets sold, with our box office being open for under thirty hours, is a great indicator as to just how ready Utica, NY is for AHL hockey.” said President Robert Esche. “Utica is a hockey town, and the response, through ticket sales, and social media further solidifies that fact.”
“I have owned seven professional sports teams, and I have never once seen 1,000 season tickets sold in a four day span.” said Chairman Frank B. DuRoss. “The fan response has been extraordinary.”
Tickets will continue to be sold Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The ticket sales office is located behind Section 218, across the hall from the Bill Horton Room. Comets fans can also reach the ticket office over the phone by calling (315)790-9070.
