ONEONTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Hamilton Emerald Knights, ranked sixth in the state, beat previously unbeaten South Kortright 4-1 in the state regional finals on Saturday.
It's the third consecutive win for the Emerald Knights in the regionals, the first time in the school's history. Their next goal will be to win their second state title in three years, the last one being in 2008.
South Kortright was up 1-0 after a goal by Peter Fabrykiewicz, but the Emerald Knights scored four in a row, three in the first half.
Drew Thompson had assists on all three Hamilton goals in the first half, the first two were to Dan Kraynak, the third was to Sam Owens.
Sam Reilly scored Hamilton's goal in the second half.
Hamilton will play Northstar Christian from Section 5 next Saturday in the state semi-finals in downstate Middletown.
