Jail inmate found in possession of cocaine
ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome man at the Oneida County Jail has been charged after authorities say they found cocaine in his jail cell. 22-year-old Shawn Stephenson, of Rome, is charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a controlled substance. While conducting a check of Stephenson's cell, corrections officers say they came across a folded piece of paper with a white powder substance inside. The substance was sent to the forensics unit which determined it was cocaine. Stephensen pleaded guilty to grand larceny charges and was sentenced to six months behind bars on January 31.
